LONG HAUL- BUSINESS CLASS

Boeing 777-300ER

Boeing 777-300ER

I wont bore you with too many details (OK YES I WILL), but I've had a really crappy 5 weeks- resulting in me wearing PJs for a month straight, washing my hair once a week (if I'm lucky) , looking at old photos of when I was in a much better place ( literally & figuratively), and watching  so many random YouTube clips on travel, that I'm starting to know the names of people starring in them. What a little ray of sunshine I am! Aren't you glad you clicked on this post?! I guess in a way it should make you feel better about yourself- I mean, if you have got yourself showered and dressed today give yourself a big old pat on the back because you have done more than me in the past week.

Well......today I figured it's time to jump back on the horse. Or would that be jump back on the bike? Yep, I've definitely lost my mojo- but stick with me, I promise in the next couple of months I will be back to my normal witty, creative and hysterical self. AHEM.......ok, ok, just my normal self- forget the creative funny bit.

OK, LET'S REWIND: to a few months ago when my husband & I were happy as Larry,  boarding a business class flight on Virgin Australia to Los Angeles. Instead of rehashing every single detail (I've already written once about Virgin Business), I'll give you a brief description and let the pictures do the talking. Let me just say, it's amazing. Let me also just say- we didn't pay for these flights, we used velocity points- so I may feel differently if we forked out $8,000 for the pair of us to get to LA. I probably would have expected Richard Branson to serve our meals, give us a foot massage and collect our luggage from the carousel.

So let's break it down:

FOOD: 9/10. Seriously good. In fact so good you would think you were in a fine dining restaurant (yes, seriously). I've said it before about Virgin food, they don't disappoint.

SERVICE: Excellent. Virgin staff are always fabulous in my opinion. Full of character and not too stuffy. Just the right balance of professional and friendly. And just as a side note, why do they all look like they are models from Robert Palmer's "simply irresistible" film-clip? They just need little guitars and lycra numbers and Bob's your uncle.

SEAT: Very comfy- lie flat- I managed to get a few hours sleep in between stuffing my face and watching endless romantic comedies that always seem to star either Cameron Diaz or Leslie Mann. The seat has lots of different settings and very good lumbar support. Admittedly, it wouldn't be great if you were a passenger of size though. No siree. There would be lots of overhang into the next seat. A seat muffin top, if you will.

OVERALL: loved it. Would do it again in a heartbeat. Wish I could jump on the plane tomorrow and experience it again. Yep- you get the drift.
